These RARE photos are perhaps the beginning of Pride in Buffalo. Back in 1982 during Buffalo's Sesquicentennial Parade I had a gay float entered into the straight parade. It took a lot from city hall to let me do this float. The anti-gay mayor prohibited it. It was only after my lawyer threatened to sue was I permitted to enter this float. It caused a HUGE stir and tons of comments, but to me, it was the beginning of Pride in Buffalo.
